Our System

Training Highway maintains complete suites of laptop and/or desktop computers that are transported across the county of Kent to venues such as village halls, community and retirement centres.

One of our training groups

All computers are networked and have Internet access. The trainer's computer is projected on to a large screen to make it easy for the learners to follow the courses.

Training materials
For beginners, there is a very comprehensive, easy-to-understand manual. For those with their own computers and Internet access at home, the online Document Library contains an extensive range of training materials.

Mentors

Most of our Mentors across Kent have undertaken nationally accredited Open College Network courses developed by Training Highway that help them support learners who are new to computers.

This is the Mentoring Courses Series, which also includes a configuring and troubleshooting module. Mentors who have successfully completed these provide valuable support to Training Highway trainers in classroom sessions delivered in the community.

Training Highway Computer Learning & Support

This is a membership-based system that provides a flexible route to getting to grips with technology.

Although there is no lower age limit, Membership works particularly well for older people who have less confidence with computers and often don't possess the 'natural ability' that younger people have with regard to technology.

There are no tests, assessments or exams - just a plain-speaking, common sense approach to helping people get the most from computers and the Internet.
